February Favourites

Hello everyone,

Can you believe that February is practically over already?! It seems to have flown by, although I’m kind of glad as it means summer is getting that little bit closer and my birthday is in March too! This is the second monthly favourite post of the year (obviously) and hopefully I will succeed with my little goal of writing one every month.

Anyway, let’s get on with my February faves!

There’s so many things I’ve loved this month, including this Percy & Reed No Oil, Oil for your hair. I got this as a sample in my November Birchbox and have loved using it. It doesn’t make your hair greasy or sticky, just smooth and frizz free! It is supposed to be volumising too, although I don’t know if that part works on my hair. However, I’ve been in love with it since I first trialed it as it keeps my wavy hair sleek and straight, this month I brought myself a full sized bottle.

One good thing about February is the cold weather – although I absolutely hate being cold and wet! It has given me the opportunity to make the most of wearing my new scarves that I was gifted for Christmas. I love a good knitted scarf and I’ve been wearing one every day this month as the weather has been crazy!

My fave at the minute is my Hufflepuff scarf that Myles got me, it’s super cosy and I love the mustard/ochre yellows at the moment that are so in this season.

Another fave this month is this ARROW waterproof eyeliner from my February Birchbox. It’s a double ended pencil, black at one end and a very light pink highlighting pencil at the other. I am absolutely amazed by the staying power of this beauty. I use the black side every day for work, usually pencil eyeliner weeps into my eye wrinkles and leaves me with panda eyes. This one though is incredible! It stays on all day just like a gel liner, there’s no weeping or fading at all. For a brand I’d never heard of before – I’m super impressed and have used this almost every day since receiving it (I got it by accident as well!).

My fave app this month is something that came up in one of Zoella’s vlogs not long back, called 1 Second Everyday. You basically film one whole second of your day, each day and it mashes up your seconds into a cute video showing the highlights of each day. I’m aiming to go a whole year doing mine, so far I’ve done a week and I love watching it back! If you haven’t already got this – download it!

In my Christmas stocking, Myles brought me a few Essie nail varnishes – he knows it’s one of my fave polish brands! My ultimate fave is the gel collection in shade Sew Me. It’s a gorgeous nude-caramel rose shade and I wear it any chance I get! I’ve never been so in love with a nail polish, every time I’ve got it on, I drive Myles mad as I make him look at my nails every five seconds! See a full post on Essie Gel Couture HERE.

One reason I love this time of year is the beautiful blooms. Tulips are my absolute faves, when teamed with hyacinths and daffodils they make a stunning spring bouquet that honestly makes me so happy to look at. This little bunch was only £4 from Aldi and has lasted well over a week. How gorgeous do the pinks, blues and yellows look together? The white and purple bunch was a lovely little gift from my little cousins Millie and Primrose as a thank you for having them round for a sleepover! I actually wrote a post this month about tulip care, find that HERE.

I’ve recently been loving Jane the Virgin. It’s a series on Netflix about a girl called Jane Villanueva – the daughter of a teen mother, who grew up determined not to repeat her mum’s mistakes. She’s studying to be a teacher, and engaged to a detective who supports her decision to remain a virgin until marriage, but a routine visit to the clinic turns her life upside down. She is artificially inseminated by a specimen meant for the patient in the next room, Jane is in a situation made only more insane when she learns that the sperm donor is actually her boss, Rafael. Seriously, I’m loving how dramatic and funny this series is, Jane is amazing and so witty! I’m not that far into it yet but I’m loving it. Thanks to my cousin Millie for introducing me to it!

Pancakes are my ultimate fave right now. Ever since pancake day I’ve been obsessed with them! Nutella and strawberries is my fave topping for sure. I hosted a sleepover for my cousins last weekend and we had them for breakfast too! They’re not healthy but damn they’re good. You guessed it – I wrote about pancakes too, find it HERE.

So that’s it for my February Faves! They’ll probably be my faves for the next few months to be honest, once I like something, it’s hard for anything to change my mind. So what do you think? Any of these things on your faves list?

Love Charlie x

  1. Oh my gosh that scarf is soooooo cute 😉 ! I am sort of a Hufflepuff, but when I did the tests, I was a Gyrffindor however, I fell in the love with the yellow aesthetic of Hufflepuff (shhhh don’t tell anyone)😂😂😂😂😂 Love the notebook too xx

  2. Ahhh my other half did the tests twice and came out Hufflepuff and Gryffindor! I suppose you can have both traits! Abby, I’m still on season one (currently watching as I type) absolutely loving it! So glad to hear it gets better xx

  3. That Essie nail Polish is gorgeous! I love nude colours that don’t look dull or muddy 👌 I tried watching Jane the Virgin a while ago but I just found it so confusing with all the different characters in different situations but interlinked? ?!
